This year’s Miss World Kenya 2011was held at Oak Place Centre, Kiambu on the Month of July 30. From about 4,000 contestants that did the auditions only  33  were able to join the academy.   In the academy after 4 weeks there was further elimination of 17 contestants leaving 16 contestants for the finals. After some serious battling the judges reduced the number to five and then three. The fairest of them all that was crowned the Miss World Kenya 2011.

Miss World Kenya pageant was Susan Anyango.  Susan Anyango takes from Natasha Metto who was Miss World Kenya 2010.

The event attracted a wide range of audience including international judges . Renowned artists such as Daddy Owen were present to keep the guests entertained. The CEO of Ashley Beauty School Miss Terry Muigai went a notch higher in her search for beauty and awarded some unique individuals. Such were young Rose Nasimiyu ( a 9 year old battling with cancer) as pioneer Queen of Hope and Emma Waruguru for her captivating story of being a house help but her desire to excel in life motivated her to join the beauty pageant .

Susan Anyango is beautiful, soft spoken, six feet tall woman who also loves smiling. She is 19 years and now proud owner of the beauty crown at least for a year. She is the last born in a family of three having lost both of her parents at a young age. She was just trying out since friends urged her to do so though by the timed she decided that the auditions in Nairobi were done and she went to Githurai to try and was picked as the finalist for Nestea Miss World Kenya. The rest was a journey that saw her to be the crown owner. “I am happy and I thank God so much because he gave me strength to come here first of all” she said in one of her speeches after receiving her beauty crown.

  • 20 yrs old Edmilza dos Santos – Angola
  • 18 yrs old Stephanie Kaikari – Ghana
  • 20yrs old Karabo Sampson – Botswana
  • 24yrs old Luzaan van Wyk – Namibia
  • 19yrs old Malaika Mushandu – Zimbabwe
  • 25yrs old Bokang Montjane – South Africa
  • 24yrs old Nomasondo Mphakisoane – Lesotho
  • 22yrs old Swadu Natasha Beckley – Sierra Leone
  • 20yrs old Sylvia Nduka – Nigeria

Susan is expected to represent Kenya in Miss World later in October 2011 in London. She is looking forward to the event and would love it if you voted for her. Congratulations Miss World Kenya 2011.
